A Bit About Ross

I first broached the idea of a European holiday with Davy J not long after I arrived back from Oz late last year. I have never been further afield than Oz and David had mentioned that he was keen to head for theGreek
Islands so I thought that we could look to kill two birds…so to speak!

The idea again came up over a few beers with me, Tom, David & Robin at the Speights Alehouse and as the level of consumption increased…so did the travel plans and the number of participants. And now here we are. The tickets are purchased and the date of departure is set. Roll on Thursday12th of July.

A lot has happened in my life over the past few years…some good, some not so. But it has now afforded me the opportunity to do something completely different from anything I have done before. With Jen everything was always meticulously planned and life was as much about a well loved routine as anything else. Now I have the prospect of being hurtled head-long out of the “comfort zone” into what I am sure will be one huge adventure….some good, some not so good…after all, it is Tom I am traveling with! One can only hope that he has in fact learned a few things from his first BIG OE otherwise I am probably in deep shit.

The highlight for me, along with getting to Old Trafford of course, will be the gathering of four lifelong friends at some sleazy bar somewhere in Europe to talk up the same old bullsh*t we always talk, take the piss out of each other like we always have, to laugh out loud as we always do….and to marvel at the magic of being alive.

I hope to be able make regular and coherent contributions to this ‘travelogue’ so as they say….”Let the games begin!”
